Homeopathy was founded by Samuel Hahnemann in early 19th century.It is a gentle and deep healing system effective in most acute and chronic diseases prevalent today.It not only cures physical pathology but also cures mental and emotional symptoms of patient thus improving quality of life of a person. It is a energy medicine.It stimulates body’s own defence mechanism(vital force according to Hahnemann) to overcome disease
Homeopathy is scientific ,fast acting and true healing method .It is not slow acting contrary to popular belief.It heals the disease in totality ie mental, emotional and physical level and not just superficial symptomatic relief.In other words the patient is cured .It is a very economical system of medicine as most patients who do not have very advanced disease are cured within few months thus reducing expenses on long term medicines and investigations.Patient with advanced disease may take some time to heal but still expenses will be less compared to allopathy.
Homeopathic medicine are prepared from sources like vegetables, minerals and animal products.There is a special method called potentization (which includes dilution and shaking remedy bottle vigorously ) to prepare homeopathic remedy.This method brings out curative power of original inert substance. Homeopathy believes that if a substance can produce certain symptoms in a healthy person ,if a diseased person comes with same symptoms that substance will cure him.This is called ‘similia similibus curentur’ ie like cures like.
Homeopathy is individualised system of medicine.If 5 people present with same disease (for eg asthma) ,in allopathy they will receive more or less same treatment but in homeopathy they will get different remedies.This process requires lot of time and effort which makes homeopathy difficult to apply.Only few homeopaths out of many will practice it correctly. This is called classical homeopathy.In this only one remedy is prescribed at a time.Most homeopaths practice polypharmacy ie mix many remedies and give it to patient.This results in only superficial amelioration of disease and no real cure. It takes around 1.5 to 3 hours to take case of one patient and analyse it in classical homeopathy which makes it financially difficult to sustain. Also governments of all most all countries give importance to allopathy and no major funding is given to homeopathy.
